Apollo 17 (3 Days On The Moon) is the third instalment of the BS ’sojourn series’ inspired by specific stories of space exploration.
The final mission of NASA’s Apollo program (1972) saw Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt
spend just over three complete days on the Moon’s surface conducting geological experiments
and gathering samples.
Ronald Evans waited in the command module and had his own record-breaking adventure
on the way home by conducting a ‘deep space’ walk to retrieve film and data cassettes along
with scientific instruments. The spacewalk took place approximately 180 000 miles from Earth.
After listening to many hours of original radio transmissions from the mission, a story of teamwork, courage, fun and genuine friendship cuts through the static.
This album is a companion piece to the Basement Spaceman show of the same name. A visual, educational presentation that attempts to bring this epic mission to life.
